Why
should you read Lisa McMann books?
Lisa is a great author,
she has written many books. Her books are related to teenagers, so they can
connect. The genres consist of drama/mystery/romance, if you a fan of these books
you should really check them out. She has a series and her first book is called
“Wake”. Its about this young girl named
Janie that works in a nursing home and has a weird power where she goes into
people’s dreams, not on purpose it almost like she’s forced into them. At her
jobs there’s this one elder No one know about this not even her best friend
Carrie. When the person is having a nightmare its like she’s having a seizure.
In the first book she is trying to figure out why this keeps happening to her.
It’s the start of her senior year, and she falls in love with this guy named
Cable, but little does she know that he is secretly working for police to fine
a predator. Janie hangs out with him a couple of times and they started to
date. He then became very protective of her. Later on, in the book Janie gets a
job as a investigator and has to try and find a predator in the school. Everyone
thinks its one of the teachers. Janie sets up a party with he teachers the other
science students. Janie’s boss told her not to eat or drink anything, but after
hours she becomes very hungry and thirsty, so she eats and drinks what’s in the
house. She then became drugged and the teachers were going after her. After the
whole incident her boyfriend Cabel broke up with her because he couldn’t except
the fact that, that happened to her. After a few days she goes to his house and
they talk it out and they get back together. In the third book Janie and Cabel
go on a vacation but he friend Carrie calls her and tells her that her mother
is drunk and is acting crazy, and to meet them at the hospital. Janie tells Cabel,
and they head to the hospital. They get there, and Janie wants everyone to
leave because she found out her father was in the hospital. She goes into his
room a few times but every time she does, she falls to the floor and gets
sucked into his nightmares. Janie did research and finds out where he lives. Her
and Cabel go to her dad’s house and look through his stuff to get clues. They didn’t
find any, so they leave. Janie keeps going back and she though of the idea of moving
into his house, but she can’t because he hasn’t died yet. If she does this, she
could lose her boyfriend, her job, her scholarship, but she thinks to herself
asking if all of that is worth losing her eye sight and looking old at a young
age. Then she realizes that this is what she wants. She goes back to the
hospital and goes into his room, pulls herself out of his nightmare, lays on
the chair, tells him everything and then falls asleep. She’s dreaming and he’s
in her dream, she’s asking for help, he tells her everything will be fine and
to just hold on, then she wakes up.
Lisa McMann’s books
are really good and very interesting if you aren’t looking for a specific genre.
Wow--you are really into this! Less detail is needed I think. Think about how a movie trailer works, it gives you just enough that you want to find out more!
